I’m Nick Shaddick, an art and design historian living on the Romney Marsh near Rye. I studied sculpture and art history at Maidstone College of Art, design history at the Royal College of Art, and I’m now undertaking research for my doctorate at the University of York. I also love to teach the history of art, whether in museums, galleries or other venues, to groups of any age or size, even on occasion one-to-one. In addition to many years experience teaching in further and higher education, I have lectured at the National Portrait Gallery, the V&A, and elsewhere.
in the Courses section of the website you’ll find information about my current and planned public lecture series in Kent and Sussex. If you’re currently enrolled on one of these courses, you’ll also be able to access the Resources section, where you’ll find the slides used in each lecture, documents and guides for further study.
